Nathan believes that after everything they have sacrificed for Canada, veterans shouldn't have to fight again for fair treatment by the Canadian government. But all too often, veterans have been neglected by the government, and left to fight again for their benefits, pensions, and health supports.
Throughout his time in office, Nathan has been a strong defender of the rights of veterans. In January 2014, Nathan voted to support a motion to incease investment mental health services for veterans, and to stop the government from shutting down nine Veterans Affairs offices. And Nathan has been an advocate for re-opening those closed offices, and expanding access to quality home-care, long-term care and mental health supports for veterans.
