Smithers and Prince Rupert LNG events postponed to New Year
November 1st, 2013 - 12:49pm
SMITHERS —Late scheduling conflicts have led to postponement of Smithers and Prince Rupert events in a LNG tour co-hosted by MP Nathan Cullen later this month.
Proponents for proposed projects in the Smithers and Prince Rupert areas are no longer able to participate in these communities. Because of the importance of having proponent participation, these evenings are being re-scheduled to the New Year.
Re-scheduled dates will be announced as soon as possible.
Information evenings set for Terrace (7pm November 13, REM Lee Theatre) and Kitimat (7pm November 14, Mount Elizabeth Theatre) will proceed as planned.
The evenings will start with brief panel presentations from proponents, First Nations and community organizations. Most time will be devoted to questions and answers from the audience. Cullen will moderate the events.
Panelists for Terrace include LNG Canada, Chamber of Commerce, Chief Joe Bevan, Chief Don Roberts, Tides Canada, and Friends of Wild Salmon. Panelists for Kitimat include LNG Canada, Kitimat Terrace Industrial Development Society, Chief Ellis Ross, Tides Canada, and Friends of Wild Salmon.
