FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FEBRUARY 5, 2014

SMITHERS – Today, MP Nathan Cullen will pay his respects and share memories of Wet'suwet'en Hereditary Chief Gisday'wa (Dr. Alfred Joseph), who passed away last Thursday in Hazelton.

"It's with a heavy heart I'll honour this tremendous leader and human being who was a bridge-builder and a champion of rights for the Wet'suwet'en, and for First Nations across British Columbia and Canada," said Cullen. "Alfred led a life of giving selflessly and generously for his people. It's difficult to imagine a world without a kind spirit like his."

Cullen will attend the memorial service in Hagwilget Village at 11:00 am this morning.
