Nathan and Diana Cullen overjoyed new parents of two new sons

TERRACE – The population of Skeena-Bulkley Valley grew by two this morning, as first-time parents Nathan and Diana Cullen joyfully welcomed newborn twins into their family. Diana Cullen safely delivered 7 pounds 11 ounces and 5 and half pound sons in Mills Memorial Hospital with ecstatic new dad Nathan at her side.

“We are over the moon to welcome twin boys into our lives. Diana was just amazing and our babies are incredibly beautiful and healthy,” exulted Cullen.

The full-term babies were born on August 6th at 12:09 and 12:11 AM. The Cullens truly want to thank the remarkable hospital team that perform true miracles like this each and every day. “Our doctors Smith and Almas were real heroes and the staff at Mills Memorial define what it is to be caring and professional”, said Cullen. The Cullens expect to return home to Smithers with their new family in the next few days.

Diana and I feel doubly blessed to now be the parents of twins,” Nathan Cullen said today.

“The northwest, already so magical to Diana and I, and will be even more special as it is now the birthplace of our babies. We want to thank the many well-wishes we’ve been receiving from folks all across the Northwest and Canada.”

The Cullens, who met in Smithers and were married there in August 2005, will continue to live in Smithers, where Diana has been a teacher-on-call with School District 54 while also completing her Master’s thesis in Canadian Studies.

Cullen was elected MP in June 2004 and re-elected in January 2006 and October 2008.
