The Conservative government decided to cut Canada Post services last winter with measures including raising the price of stamps to $1, reducing the workforce by 8000 jobs, and actively ending door to door delivery. They are planning to make these changes through the next five years.
The phasing out of door-to –door delivery began October 20th, and will remove the service from 5 million addresses. The Canada Post Union says that if the Conservatives do not get voted into a majority next year, there is a chance of reversing the five year plan.
Nathan and the NDP know that this is not the way to run a business, and are working to strengthen the service so that it is able to continue to serve our communities.
