Keeping coastal communities across BC strong means maintaining a quality and affordable ferry service for British Columbians and for visitors to our province. But a recent string of devastating cuts by the Harper government in Ottawa and the Clark government in Victoria has damaged the reliability of BC Ferries, hurt tourism in our province, and unfairly heaped new costs onto BC residents.
Nathan has been active in calling for provincial officials to maintain this service, and he has also lobbied the federal transport minister to keep BC Ferries service reliable and affordable.
Keeping our ferries system vibrant and accessible means stronger connections between BC communities, a more successful tourism season, and increased revenues for local businesses and multiple levels of government. It's the responsibility of the government to ensure BC Ferries remains strong.
